The seminar The Century of the Child: Design – Children – Participation will take place on Friday 20th of November 2015 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. in the TING Hall at Nordic Culture Point, Kaisaniemenkatu 9 in Helsinki, Finland.
The Nordic countries have been pioneers in the design of environments for children, as demonstrated by the exhibition The Century of the Child at Design Museum. Understanding children as a special group and designing products for them are associated with the role and opportunities of children to operate in society. What are the current opportunities of children to participate in designing their own environment? What would participatory design education be like, and how will design be incorporated in Finland’s new national core curriculum for basic education?
The programme of the seminar. Registration.
The seminar is a cooperation between Nordic Culture Point and Design Museum Helsinki. We have a limited number of seats (90). Enrollment is based on a first come, first served basis.
The seminar will be in English.
