Spend a summer day at the Design Museum, rain or shine! There is something to see and do every summer day, both inside and around the museum. We are open extended Mon-Fri 11 am–8 pm and Sat-Sun 11 am–6 pm until the end of August.
Free guided tours to the main exhibition
Free guided tours to our current exhibitions are held weekly during the summer. The fascinating tours deepen the experience of the exhibitions.

Design Evenings
In honour of the Design Museums’ 150th anniversary in 2023, the Design Evening events organized on a monthly basis will turn into whole-day events, and entry will be free of charge during the opening hours of the museum, from 11 am to 8 pm. Read more.
Night of the Arts
The Night of the Arts is celebrated at the Design Museum on Thursday 17 August. The museum is open late into the evening and admission to the exhibitions is free from 4pm to 10pm.
Taito Café
A tasty salad-soup lunch is served daily from 11 am. to 2 pm., including weekends! At Taito Café you will find freshly baked breads, pies and sweet pastries. The café also serves coffee from the local roastery, small breweries and organic wine.
Design Museum Shop
In the Design Museum Shop you will find a great selection of Finnish and international design and books. Find high-quality summer souvenirs and beautiful design products for your own home.
Alusta Pavilion
A small oasis can be found in the summer courtyard between the Design Museum and the Museum of Finnish Architecture! The pavilion explores nature-culture relations and offers a place for relaxation and encounters between humans and non-human animals in urban space. Read about Alusta Pavilion and the programme here.
