On Helsinki Day, we celebrate Helsinki’s birthday. We invite you, from near and far, to spend the day with us enjoying design, architecture, and art! There will be free admission to the Museum of Finnish Architecture and the Design Museum Helsinki all day, with events inspired by the FIX: Care and Repair exhibition.
Helsinki Day Program
FIX: Drop-in Workshop for Children and Adults
Time: 4 pm–6 pm | Place: Museum of Finnish Architecture, 2nd floor
Participation: Free admission | Non-stop
Come and build compositions from various cleaning tools with the assistance of instruction cards and a workshop facilitator! You can photograph the compositions in the Functional Utility Closet space. Feel free to bring a camera, if you wish.
D-Ark Lab Drop-in Workshop: What Do You Think of This Object?

Virtual Guided Tour of the FIX: Care and Repair Exhibition

If you can’t visit the museum in Helsinki for any reason, you can join the exhibition through a virtual guided tour! The virtual tour will be streamed live on the Design Museum’s and Museum of Finnish Architecture’s Facebook pages. A recording of the Helsinki Day tour will be available on Facebook for one week after the event.
Information and Action: Cleanup Event with Roskasakki

Kaija and Ilkka Erkkilä, also known as Roskasakki, have cleaned up over 2 million cigarette butts and 5000 bags of trash from Finnish cities. Roskasakki will share insights into their activities and the voluntary cleanup of public urban spaces. Following the information session, you can join a trash walk in the centre of Helsinki led by Roskasakki.
