Soil Matters studies how changes in soil are interwoven with human activity. Soil Matters will mark the end of a three-year series of exhibitions, the purpose of which has been to seek out important new curatorial content to feature in the museum’s Gallery. The exhibition will be held at the Design Museum from 4 September 2020 to 10 January 2021.
Soil Matters exhibition addresses the versatile aspects of soil with the tools of design and artistic research. Exhibition visitors are encouraged to think about their personal human-soil relationship. The exhibition addresses the materiality of soil with the tools of design and artistic research.
The exhibition is curated by Maarit Mäkelä, ceramic artist and associate professor, and Riikka Latva-Somppi, artist and doctoral student, both at Aalto University.
Guided tours are included in the museum´s ticket price. (Adults €12, pensioners €10 and free entry for all under the age of 18)
