Design Museum’s main exhibition addresses the significance of travel in the work of Nordic designers
Travel as a Tool – Nordic Designers on the Road considers the meaning of travel for the work of Nordic designers from the 1940s to the present day. Trips have been sources of new ideas and inspiration. They have created valuable contacts and new opportunities along with introducing designers to materials and manufacturing methods. Recent international events have now placed travel in a new perspective – the exhibition gives current news a point of reference in past decades – at a point in time before long-distance travel became an everyday matter. The exhibition will open to the public when the coronavirus restrictions are lifted. The closing date will be 7th of March 2021. The press and media release concerning the exhibition is available here.
