Join us at CreativeMornings/Helsinki for an inspiring session with Marika Makaroff, CCO and Founder of Gutsy Animations. Discover the secrets to crafting vibrant teams in the dynamic world of content creation.
Unni Pulliainen is a dynamic science education specialist with a unique blend of expertise in evolutionary biology and performing arts. She holds a PhD in Evolutionary Biology from the University of Helsinki, where she spent over a decade researching the intricacies of evolution, focusing particularly on the social behavior of ants. Unni also has a degree in performing arts from London, UK, which she seamlessly integrates into her scientific work.
Her passion for science communication has led her to become a prominent voice in popularizing science, participating in expert interviews for books, newspapers, television, and radio. Currently, Unni is at the forefront of combining arts and sciences in her role at Kide Science, an international EdTech company, where she creatively develops educational content. Additionally, she is deeply involved in cross-disciplinary theater productions that intertwine science with performance art, and she expresses her ecological concerns through her evocative poetry.
Despite her varied and rich professional pursuits, one of Unni’s greatest joys remains telling stories about ants. For her, these remarkable creatures demonstrate that truth is often stranger—and more fascinating—than fiction.
