The Nordic Countries Pavilion at the 19th International Architecture Exhibition of La Biennale di Venezia 10 May – 23 November 2025
The Nordic Countries Pavilion presents Industry Muscle: Five Scores for Architecture, a new work by performance artist Teo Ala-Ruona. The exhibition reimagines the modern built environment through the lens of the trans body, engaging in dialogue with Sverre Fehn’s iconic 1962 pavilion. It explores how architecture can respond to ecological and societal change by merging performance, installation, and architectural practice. The exhibition is the result of a multidisciplinary collaboration across art, architecture, and research.
Bodytopian Architecture
Bodytopian Architecture, an essay by Teo Ala-Ruona and architect A.L. Hu, expands on the ideas behind the work. It brings together trans theory, architectural thinking, and ecological perspectives, offering deeper insight into the exhibition’s conceptual ground.
